Have Questions?

Is this for complete beginners?

Absolutely! This is designed to take you from zero to mahjong hero. Mahjong 101 covers all the basics to get you playing, like tiles, the card and the rules. Mahjong 102 introduces strategy and the practice approach that will get you playing better, fast.

Complete beginners can even start playing (while learning!) after Mahjong 101.

Even players who have learned a bit of the basics will benefit from starting with 101 - understanding the layers of the game really will make it click.

What if I've tried to learn before and it was too confusing?

This is literally half of my students! We teach based on concepts you already know and take it layer by layer. It's truly not difficult, it's just a lot of new things all rolled into one game. Once you learn each layer, with a little practice it WILL click.

I'm here for questions as well!

What's so great about American Mahjong?

Where to start? It feels so good to play!

Being around a table with others is the perfect low-key way to socialize. It feels like a shared experience.

It's strategic enough to keep your brain sharp, but not difficult once you understand the layers. Plus, with a new card issued each year, you don't get bored.

The clinking of the tiles and the excitement of seeing what you will draw next is just so satisfying.
